A Carpenter's Cottage

A humble beginning, in the summer of '15, my first piece of furniture sold.

So I cleared out my shop, put a sign up top, and chase the potential I hold.

A Carpenter's Cottage, my little homage to patina, rust, and holes.

My story

To help with my grief after my father's sudden passing in 2006, I began the daunting task of remodeling our family's nostalgic farmhouse. Taking solace in a sledge hammer, flooded with memories past, I laughed, cried, hacked and hammered those old failing plaster walls until my hands where raw and my body ached with exhaustion. When my arm could no longer swing the hammer, I found my peace.

I also found my calling. Room by room, nail by nail, I crafted that house back together. Wainscoting, hardwood, built-ins, double doors, the farmhouse had it all. And it was all me.

With a developing addiction to design, I bought an old house and did it again. With the farmhouse, I found my calling. With the cottage, I found my style. A modern, vintage style.

Wainscoting

Finish carpentry service that designs, builds, and installs wainscoting and planking. A timeless look in any room that adds instant character to a home. A mix of materials, trim profiles, and paint colors create endless combinations. Wainscoting is limited to the Pittsburgh area.

Upcycle furniture

Unique items that have been artistically built from recycled and salvaged materials. Eco-friendly. Eclectic. One of a kind.

Original furniture

Handmade staple items artistically designed in a modern vintage style. Items include kitchen islands, bars, benches, tables, built-in cabinets, and entryway systems.
